As a vital part of our ongoing research and development, SONOWAND maintains a tradition of establishing a close collaboration with prestigious academic and clinical institutions on a worldwide basis. These Centers help ensure that SonoWand can provide neurosurgeons with the best solutions for intraoperative imaging and neuronavigation based on 3D ultrasound and Power Doppler technology.
SonoWand® Reference Centers play a key role in the testing and evaluation of our latest developments as well as mapping new challenges to be solved and recommending possible solutions. Additionally, in close cooperation with SonoWand experts, these Centers play host to visiting neurosurgeons wishing to scrutinize SonoWand® in a clinical setting.
Our current Reference centers include:
Department of Neurosurgery, St Olavs Hospital Trondheim, Norway
SONOWAND's first reference center was established here in September 1997. This innovative clinic played a key role in the initial development and clinical testing that led to the commercial product of SonoWand®.
The clinic remains vital to our continuing growth and success by introducing and testing new product concepts, conducting cutting-edge research and publishing results on the technology, guest lecturing at major events on a world wide basis, and hosting privileged visitors interested in the SonoWand®.
Department of Neurosurgery, University Clinic Freiburg, Germany
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University Clinic in Freiburg was established as a reference center in March 2006. The clinic has extensive experience with the application of ultrasound in neurosurgery and has implemented SonoWand® for both standard surgical procedures as well as research projects. With more than 100 beds, it is the largest neurosurgical department in Germany.
Research interests include application of SonoWand® wherein 3D ultrasound is expected to offer significant benefits, including epileptic surgery and soft tissue spinal surgery.
